Dear sir/madam
My name is Kirsty , and I'm looking for a summer job as many hours as possible. I'm currently studying at Oxford Brookes University within the childhood studies focus. Being at university has made me become a very outgoing and individual person. I believe that my confidence within myself has grown.
During my time at university I had the amazing chance to work with 0-2 year olds every Thursday, I learnt so much and would love the chance to continue.
Before this I did a level 3 diploma in childhood studies at Warwickshire college. In order to pass this course I had to carry out 800 hours in childcare settings. these ranged from nurseries, schools and reception classes.
One of the many things I have learnt within childcare settings so far is: how to respond to a range of children's needs and to understand that their behaviour is not always a rational response to their circumstances. For example, I worked with a child who was behaving aggressively towards other children and another who was withdrawn and unsociable; through play activities I learned that it was both children who lacked self‐confidence and who needed the most encouragement out of the group.
Sincerely
Kirsty
