Helen, home childcare - S71 Royston

Hello Families!

I'm a bright, bubbly and enthusiastic woman from the Barnsley area. I've always been interested in childcare and was my second choice for college (that unfortunately fell short to a Music Diploma). I've been a dedicated Scout leader for 3 years so have looked after and ran activities for children aged between 6 and 14.

I myself, used to go to a childminders and went there until i was 15! I would help look after the younger kids and babies and loved getting my hands dirty with fun and educational activities.

The most important part to a child's development is outdoor play, too many kids these days are sent to childcare where they sit and watch TV all day. I believe it is vital to make every day slightly different, so whether that be swimming, visiting a farm, or a simple supermarket shop, they are all opportunities to learn and develop.

I have always been around kids due to my large family. The age difference between myself and my siblings meant that I was able to help raise them from being new born.

I spent 2 years working as a holiday rep and was offered the role as a Nanny by quite a few families who were staying in the hotels however I wasn't ready to leave the sun behind.
