I'm Laura, I have been a babysitter since I was a teenager, looking after many of my younger cousins. I went on to do an Education Studies degree which inspired me to turn my attention to childcare rather than teaching. My first childcare role was a live in nanny, I then went on to study a level 3 in childcare to work in nurseries. In order to gain experience in special educational needs, I took a break from nursery to become a support worker for adults with learning disabilities, which inspired me to study a masters degree in autism.
I get on with children very well, and treat each child with respect and individuality. I am always willing to help with homework, listen to problems, and encourage learning and development through play.
My hobbies include knitting, sewing, felting, arts and crafts. I also play the ukulele and have taught these skills to children in my care.
Occasional babysitting | $8.50 per hour |
Partial / after-school care | $9.00 per hour |
My previous employers paid me over minimum wage. I believe prices should reflect the level of qualifications and experience a nanny has.
