Heather, home childcare in Willington

My name is Heather and I am 21 years old. I have looked after children aged between 0 to 9 years, this has been through looking after my brother, babysitting and working in a nursery and childminding setting.

I have a genuine passion for caring for children and watching them develop and grow. I am aware that caring for children involves working with their families, such as following their routines and ensuring that the family and I have a positive relationship.

I believe that children of any age should have opportunities to experience the world around them, I believe that children grow and learn a lot from experience new things and visiting new places. I have experience with driving and taking children on different outings, such as the local park, the Adventure Farm and Twycross Zoo, through working in a childminding setting.

In September 2016 I completed my NVQ Level 3 Early Years Educator through an apprenticeship at a childminding setting, where I have been able to gain experience with children of all ages. From working in a nursery and childminding setting, I have gained knowledge about the Early Years Foundation Stage and have made a lot of learning journals tracking children's development, which I feel allows families to see the different activities their child is involved and to see how they are developing whilst in my care.

I also have a safeguarding certificate, first aid certificate and have received pediatric first aid training.
