We are seeking a flexible and reliable childminder for my 9 year old son. I will be working away from home for extended periods of 2 to 3 months and need someone who can stay in evening and overnight and help get my son ready for school in the morning. Lewis is picked up outside our flat by county arranged transport that takes him to school in Carpenters Park so there is no school run to do.
Lewis’s Mum works mainly nights and does not return until. Lewis is already left for school, which is why we need this schedule. Her hours are quite consistent, usually 4 to 5 nights a week. The her rota can vary a bit but not dramatically. The overnight will usually be from 7 pm to around 8.30 am once he is collected by transport.
On some days it may be the case that some hours in the day need to be covered too, depending on her rota. When I’m away the childminder will communicate with Lewis mum on a regular basis incase of slight adjustment of hours but generally there is not much variance.
Lewis has special needs (autism) and goes to a speech and language school. He is somewhat verbal and can read but he has developmental delay. Lewis does not present challenging behaviour and does not have any medication or allergies. He is a happy and sociable guy and very good with his meals and personal care routines. He also has no issues with sleeping or getting to bed.
The childminder needs to be very reliable and trustworthy. we will start with few meetings before i go away to allow Lewis to get to know the childminder and familiarise with his routine. This will be a consistent job ongoing as i will be working overseas.
