We are a family of four with a 5-year-old daughter 3 year- old son. Our daughter is at school full time and our son has just started doing a few days in preschool. We have a baby due in February. We also have a small (and very friendly!) dog. We are looking for some help at home as our children grow up and someone to become a valued part of our family. As time goes by and Lucy’s (Mum) workload increases the role will evolve but will be varied from the outset and will involve childcare, household tasks, short errands, help with cooking family meals, washing, ironing and the odd dog walk. Cleaning will be minimal as we already have a cleaner visiting once a week.
Help at classes (swimming, football, tennis etc) during the week may be necessary and the occasional help with the school run. There will be some evening and weekend babysitting opportunities, but other arrangements could be made if necessary. The role may suit someone whose own children are grown up but is not currently employed or someone with new born experience. This role will be full time from January or at a push February,
Flexibility is key. We do not require formal childcare qualifications, although we do think somebody who has been a Mum themselves would be best suited and/or has experience with new-borns and babies and enjoys cooking. Applicants should have their own UK driving licence and car. They should also be happy to undergo a criminal record check and an appropriate first aid course (if no such training has already been received).
We are currently renting near Defford as we search for a family home to buy. We cannot currently offer a live in position but this may change once we find our family home. Please contact Lucy to arrange an informal meeting/video call if you are interested in discussing the role.
