Hi my name is Emma I'm 28 years old. I have previously worked in a private nursery for the best part of 6 years, the age range was 6 months - 5 years. I also worked as a private nanny for a few months looking after twins at 3 months old and a 3 year old.
Throughout my time at college were I gained and HNC in Childcare and Education I carried out work placements in a primary 1 class and in a council nursery.
I also have a nephew who I have helped look after as he was growing up. He is now 14. I've always enjoyed spending time with children and helping them to learn through fun activities.
I'm a friendly sociable person who enjoys meeting new people and like to help others.
I have carried out many training courses over the years in relation to childcare and education. These range from experiential play to healthy and hygiene. Other examples of subjects I have covered are learning disability awareness and reactive approaches to challenging behaviour due to the nature of my job now in mental health.
Although I work in mental health now I'm looking to go back into childcare. I feel both positions have transferable skills.
Occasional babysitting | $7.00 per hour |
Home nanny | $7.50 per hour |
I see babysitting as a casual job as of when required or the same time every week. There for the rate of pay being slightly less than an actual full time job caring for children. This is why I suggests £7.50 or more for full time work.
