We seek a nurturing live-out Nanny to join our family in South Knighton, Leicester. You will play a key role in providing a safe and loving environment for our daughters (aged four and eight). We are seeking someone reliable and nurturing, who is confident to take the lead and initiative with the girl's care and respond to their physical, emotional, and intellectual development by providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment.
Hours and salary
Your start date could be flexible, from mid-October to December. We can guarantee a minimum of 21.5 hours per week, (including core hours are 2.30 pm to 6 pm Monday to Friday all year round, plus a minimum of 4 hours per week at times to be negotiated for children’s laundry, preparation of healthy meals, cleaning and tidying of their bedrooms and play areas, and organising their toys). During school holidays, we guarantee a minimum of 12 weeks at 47.5 hours per week (8.30 am to 6 pm). We are open to negotiation and hope to offer flexibility so that it works well for all. This is a permanent position. Salary is subject to experience, but we expect to pay in the region of £12.50 - £14.50 per hour Gross, plus pension, paid leave, mileage, and expenses.
Responsibilities
Engage with children in age-appropriate activities, such as playing, storytelling, reading, and other educational activities.
Prepare healthy evening meals and snacks for the children.
Feed, bathe, and dress the children as required.
Children's laundry and sorting clothes that they have outgrown.
Ensure that the children are safe and secure at all times.
Incidental shopping for the children.
Administer basic first aid as needed.
Keep the children's rooms and play areas clean and tidy.
Be available to work flexible/additional hours as required.
Requirements
Both daughters must be collected from school by car and driven home, so a clean driving license and suitable vehicle are essential.
Proven experience working as a Nanny or similar role.
Certificate in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
Ability to remain calm and patient under pressure.
Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
A positive and caring attitude towards children.
