We require a nanny to assist us in the out of school care for our 6 year old pre-verbal little boy, who has a diagnosis of autism, hypermobility and developmental delay. The hours of care will not be set each week as when we need support will depend on what is planned each month. However, we will be able to guarantee a certain number of hours each month with four weeks notice so that there is some form of formal structure to the hours required. We do know that if we find the right person we would like them to become part of the team that takes care of our child. We endeavour to be able to get to a point where we can ask the person to watch both of our children (we have another little boy who is 5 years old) for a couple of evenings a month so that we are able to enjoy the odd meal out too. Initially though we would love to be able to trust someone enough to be able to take care of our eldest child whilst we tried to do establish some sort of normality into our daily lives. Eventually, taking our child to swimming lessons or helping whilst we're there as a family, attending hospital appointments with us if required and general everyday activities that sometimes require two pairs of hands where our child is concerned. We are expecting a third child soon, so the right person, if willing, may be able to help us for the foreseeable future as our family's requirements change.
