I have a strong passion and skill for supporting, caring and working with children. Being part of a big family with many young relatives I'm continuously gaining so much knowledge and experience; I have always enjoyed playing and exploring with children. I have previously achieved my bronze Duke Of Edinburgh award which I gained many qualities including confidence, independence and work well within a team; which I personally found an amazing and positive experience which supported me in developing myself. I also completed 3 months’ worth of voluntary work fundraising for my Secondary School’s link school in Uganda, Africa which contributed towards my Duke Of Edinburgh Award. As well as in my final year of school, I got selected through having an interview and fundraising opportunities to represent my school in visiting our link school in Uganda, Africa. Whilst there we learnt about the African culture, people & village, education and much more. I believe this was an experience which built and shaped me as a person and gave me the motivation and determination to follow through my career and plan to re-visit in the future. With past experience of working with age ranges of 6 months to 6years in a range of private and state settings. The welfare of the child is paramount and I strive to always provide quality care, supervision and stimulation ensuring the child's learning and development is being monitored, challenged and progressed. Whilst caring for children I enjoy planning and providing creative and sensory play activities; baking and cooking; trips out; music, dance and expressive arts; exploring culture and diversity; developing reading, writing and maths and much more. I have a fun and bubbly nature and looking forward to bringing this to work with children, parents and families. As well as doing voluntary, paid and BANC work. I also have experience of being a nanny for two boys regularly. Throughout my time working for them both they ranged from aged 12months - 4yrs. I did evening nanny work for the family as well as full weekend days arranging it around completing my qualification as well as working part time in retail. On evenings I would collect both the children from nursery, plan and provide them with evening activities, plan & provide healthy dinners considering dietary requirements and carry out bedtime care routines with them; providing them quality, appropriate care and supervision. Whilst caring for the children on weekend's we'd take regular trips out to local parks, farms, zoo and much more. I have previous experience of one-to-one support as well as class room sessions as well as small group activities continuously working in line with the EYFS ensuring I use is sole values throughout all my theory and practical work. In all the settings I have worked closely with parents, I’d do regular handovers and provide parents with daily updates; I engaged in key worker and parent meetings; I’d provide parents with regular updates and a track of their child’s learning in the setting through observations and monitoring.
