Hi I am a 44 year old lady who has raised 3 boys of my own. I was born in Barnstaple although my family originally come from Brighton. I have also worked in residential childcare for 5 years where I was a senior and qualified to nvq level 4 in caring for children and young people. Myself and my husband also fostered a 15 year old boy for a couple of years.
Im quite artistic and thoroughly enjoy making and creating all sorts of things and when my children were younger we were always getting messy and making weird and wonderful things.
I love animals and have 3 dogs as well as 4 chickens free roaming the garden (and yes they all get along surprisingly).
The years I spent working with residential children were very challenging at times but extremely rewarding. These children are misunderstood and labelled as trouble makers when in fact they are no different to any other children, they simply missed out on basic childcare and didn't have a great start in life for one reason or another.
Children should be nurtured.
Due to qualifications and also I have worked with very challenging children aged 8 to 18 in a residential childcare environment.
