I am currently looking for work within the child care, sector. I am hard working with a genuine interest and enthusiasm for helping and looking after people. I'm a very caring, honest and a reliable person. I have good team working skills as within my old job role it was very important that I built a strong relationship with not only the children I looked after but family / carers of the children to ensure I could meet as many needs of the child as possible. I think I would be a great person to be work with children because I would like nothing more than make a difference to the lives of individuals and their families. I think it is very important to help the individuals to remain as independent as possible, but I would love to help them with anything them way want or need. Within this job role I cared for children with a variety of different disabilities including ADHD and Down syndrome. As every child I looked after had different physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs it was important that I adapted myself to be able to work individually with each child to ensure their needs were met from me the best that I could. It was also very important that I build relationships with not only the children but with parents or careers and other professionals to ensure that the children were always looked after.
Duties whilst working in this job role included:
Assisting with personal hygiene for the children, changing nappies ect.
• Cleaning up after children.
• Preparing meals for the children.
• Planning an carrying out activities.
• Taking part in risk assessments.
• Keeping a journal for each of my key children.
• Creating next steps and following up on them for my key children.
• Supporting parents / carers who look after the children.
• Ensuring all toys ect, are safe to play with (not broken) and are clean.
• Following policies and procedures for the setting.
• Dealing with poorly children.
Qualifications based on child care:
BTEC national diploma in Health and Social care level 2. - pass.
Children and young people’s workforce Diploma level 2. – pass.
Paediatric first aid level 3.
Whilst working in my most recent job role I completed a lot of online training courses including:
• Child protection level 2 and level 3.
• First aid essentials level 2.
• Food hygiene and safety level 2.
• Equality and Diversity level 2.
• Personal safety level 2.
• Data protection level 2.
• Preventing bullying level 2.
• Child neglect level 2.
• Online safety for kids level 2.
• Child sexual exploitation level 2.
• Online safety for kids level 2.
• Health and Safety level 2.
• Safeguarding young people level 2.
• Equality and inclusion in an early years setting level 2.
• Promoting positive behaviour level 2.
• Reflective practice in an early years setting level 2.
• Childrens learning through play level 2.
• Understanding children's rights level 2.
• Supporting early language development level 2.

Whilst working as a child minding assistant i also did alot of private babysitting for the parents of children i looked after, this was the pay recommended by my boss.
