Ellie, nanny : Bettws Newydd

My name is Ellie Toll, I am a recent graduate with a 2:1 in Psychology.

I am looking to utilise the skills I have gained on my course, such as those via studying child development, to a family requiring a nanny. I feel my degree has allowed me to have a high level understanding of how children think and develop, which I hope I can apply to a nanny role within a vibrant family.

I am very caring, patient and sympathetic, yet am able to be assertive with children when required. I love working with children and have done from a very young age and i am eager to offer this passion to a welcoming family.

I have had experience as a nanny. I cared for a two-year old German child, this was challenging as she spoke no English and I no German, however, this was an enjoyable challenge to take on and by the end of our time together the little girl had achieved a basic level of English taught by me and i had learnt a little German from her also! I also encouraged her to carry out creative indoor play/ activities, reading, cooking, active out-door play in the garden and at the local park with me. I also prepared necessary food and drinks (snacks/ lunch).

I have also gained experience working in a nursery environment which involved caring for children of various ages, ranging from several months old to pre-school age.
Daily activities were altered from day to day with various themes, e.g. weather, animals, jobs etc, which helped the children to be active and stimulated their minds. I helped the children to practice for the Christmas play for their parents and also prepared the children for outdoor activities and also indoor play such as artwork, cooking and meal times.
During this role i also cared for young babies who required being changed into their sleep clothes for daily nap times and checked up on regularly during this period.
