My name is Emily , I studied early years at college as part of an apprecticeship completing my level 2 and level 3. While I studied, I worked at the Beehive Day Nursery where I stayed on as a full time, fully qualified practitioner. I worked in the pre school room and then in with the 2 year olds to help expand my knowledge. I then went on to work at Queen’s Nursery as I was interested in finding out how other nurseries worked. Then I went to Taunton school nursery where I have had experience in all ages.
I previously babysat for a family weekly for a year. I met the family at one of my nurseries and looked after their child who was 2 years old and occasionally looked after their siblings who’s age ranged up to 11 years old.
I particularly enjoyed babysitting as I enjoyed the 1 to 1 child care and felt as I could do a lot more with that child eg take them out for the day, swimming, clubs etc.
I am always excited to get to know new families and I really enjoy making a strong relationship with them and getting to know the child and everyone in that family the best I can. One of my favourite things about about working in child care is building bonds with children so they are comfortable and happy when parents aren’t around and I am looking after them. I am happy, energetic and always up for trying new things. I enjoy messy/ art play and cooking with the children and I also like being outdoors, taking the children for walks as part of forest school or welly walks and being able to go out for the day allowing the child to try new experiences and see new places.
