I have worked for 14 years as a Learning Support Assistant with the Maltese Education Authority with children of different ages varying from 3 to 11 year old, with various degrees of abilities such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Behaviour problems.
The policy in Malta is to integrate these children into a mainstream education. I also formed part of the School Breakfast Club before our normal school hours dealing with over 70 children of various ages.
As a teenager I also did voluntary work in an orphanage and also voluntary work in a special school.
Part of our activities with the children was learning computer skills, crafts, indoor and outdoor activities.
