My name is Amy and I am a kind, creative and friendly 23 year old female. I graduated in July 2014 from the University of Brighton in Primary Education 5-11 years with a specialism in art. I had 9 months of experience teaching children between the ages of 5-11 in primary schools.

Throughout my course, I learnt about educational, and child psychology. I undertook modules in teaching phonics and numeracy. I also developed my knowledge of high quality children's literature. As a result of this module, I have built up a collection of lovely children's books to share in a childminding role! Furthermore, I specialised in the pedagogy of art, craft and design. I have acquired many artistic skills which I would be able to explore in this childcare role!

Additionally, I have worked, throughout my degree course, for a childcare agency in Brighton. I have worked in many Brighton nurseries and I have had the experience of working with children between the ages of 1-4. I assisted practitioners with meal times, changing nappies, supervising and playing with the babies and toddlers. I also adhered to strict health and safety regulations.

Furthermore, I have recently been working (voluntarily) in Twickenham within an art gallery. I designed creative activities, and led singing sessions, for early years children and their parents. I also led art workshops for school aged children.

Recently, I have been volunteering for Cats Protection as an Educational Speaker in nurseries and schools. I teach children how to care for cats properly to ensure they stay happy and healthy.

(A bit about me)

I love animals (particularly cats!) and in my spare time I enjoy exploring museums, galleries and heritage sites. I like cooking and I like being creative. I am often drawing and making!

I am looking, to start with, for part-time care to fit around my commitments to volunteering. I do not have a car but I live in central Brighton and have easy access to buses and trains. I am looking for a live-out role. I have also had a DBS check. I look forward to hearing from you!
