Hello,
my name is holly , i am 18 years old and i have recently finished my level 3 childcare qualification and i am now level 3 qualified in childcare, within this course i had to undertake 800 hours of childcare experience within 4 different settings, these being; a nursery working with children of the ages 2-3 years, a primary school working with children aged 4-5 years, a primary school where i worked closely with a SEN child, and also working in a nursery in the baby room with children aged 0-2 years. I am very interested in looking to baby sit children, i believe that i can allow looking after children to become more than just babysitting, but i can do every possible thing to help develop the child's development, i can do this through different activities to help promote different aspects of their development, for example language development can be developed by encouraging the child attempt to communicate by making eye contact, responding with speech, and imitating vocalizations using different patterns and emphasis. Throughout my experience when working in the 4 different settings, i have had to plan and implement 5+ activities for the children which are age appropriate and promote their development. When working with children aged 2-3 years, i planned and implemented an activity making snowflakes, as it was Christmas at the time, the children were then able to take these home to show their parents. When working with reception aged children in the primary school, i began to implement activities to promote their numeracy skills, for example; i set up a number bingo activity, this helped develop the child's, counting, team work skills, and also number recognition. When working with children aged 6-7 years, i wanted the children to learn about instructions, rules and order; i set up an activity where the child had to make a jam sandwich following a set of instructions, the child was then allowed to eat the sandwich. Lastly, when working with children aged 0-2 years i set up an activity outside, where the children had a tub filled up with water and bubbles, the children were then encouraged to wash and dry the baby dolls, this developed the child's imaginative play and also their self awareness. I am a playful, bubbly, caring, hardworking, trustworthy, responsible, tenacious, and patient person that is willing to do what it takes and use my initiative to be the best that i can be for this role.
