Elizabeth, nanny - CH1 Chester

Hi,

My name is Lizzie, I'm 24 years old and have just got back from 2 years of travelling Australia. Prior to travelling I studied Children's Nursing at the University of Manchester and qualified with a 2:1 classification. I decided to go on to do a post graduate course in Health Visiting, where I obtained valuable skills in the health and well being of children (emotionally, physically and spiritually). I learned all about child development and recognize the importance of child play in encouraging brain development.

Whilst travelling Australia I was lucky enough to work as a Nanny for a beautiful family of 2 girls, aged 3 and 5. My duties included organizing the children for the day (getting them washed and dressed), making breakfast, preparing school lunches or picnics, household tasks (washing, ironing, sweeping and mopping, stacking and unloading dishwasher). For each day I would plan a different activity, including taking the girls swimming or to the park. We often enjoyed days out to the zoo, museum and the local farm. I enjoyed being very hands on and getting involved on the trampoline and in activities with the girls. On rainy days we did arts and crafts or baking, which the girls loved. I much preferred doing activities with the girls that got them interacting, rather than allowing them to have lots of time sat in front of the television.

Since returning from my trip I have had the pleasure of meeting my 9 month old neice, Lilly. I have spent lots of quality time looking after her and taking her on days out. I am very bubbly, energetic, caring person. I love looking after children and really miss my role as a Nanny and hope to continue this role now I am home!
