Emma, nanny - CM18 Harlow

I am a friendly, trustworthy and reliable person with a passion for childcare. I am qualified to NVQ level 3 (in both Childcare and Business & Administration) and have experience in working as part of a team in a nursery setting as well as lone working as a nanny.

In 2010 I completed a level 3 NVQ in Childcare & Education. After finishing my college course, I was offered the position of a temporary Teaching Assistant in a year 1 class at a school where I spent one of my placements. I then became a Nursery Nurse working in the toddler room with children 18 months to 2.5 years. This position also included providing cover in other rooms with babies from 3 months to children of 4 years. At this nursery I completed a music course and led 'song time' with groups of children. I also delivered the music course training to the rest of the nursery staff.
I then took a position at another local nursery in the baby room responsible for babies from 3 months to 18 months. In both nursery roles I planned and organised age appropriate activities to stimulate the children as well as completing learning journeys, which included recording observations. I have a very good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and how to apply it when observing, monitoring progress and completing children's profiles. I also formed excellent relationships with my key children and their parents via daily communication and occasional parent’s evenings.
I was then offered a Nanny/PA role by one of my key children's parents. This role included looking after a 4 year old child and also working for a company in the education sector. During this employment I also completed an NVQ level 3 in Business and Administration at college.
After a year in the above position I took maternity leave when I had my first child (who is now 15 months old), however I was made redundant before returning to work. I then took an after-school Nanny position looking after two children aged 4 and 6.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my partner and our child, family days out and attending my local gym.
