I consider to myself to be an honest caring individual with a genuine passion regarding the well being of children, having a creative background. I am confident, bubbly and fair, furthermore I consider myself to be wholeheartedly dedicated to any job I am employed in and will work extremely hard so after your busy day at work you can relax with your family
The nature of my previous volunteer work would make me an excellent individual for the role of babysitting, based on my previous experience working with children, from ten months to eleven years. I volunteered at Woodfield primary school in Plymouth for three years. Currently I am studying a BA at Plymouth College of Art but I’m in my final year so have a lot of independent study, meaning I’d have excellent availability, furthermore I have a passion for art and creating and learning, so will be happy to assist your children in their studies
Working within an educational environment has provided me with copiousness experiences and a genuine, dedicated passion for the wellbeing of young people, I had always been interested in employment within education and childcare and I’m extremely lucky to have been afforded the opportunity to work in such an enriching and enlightening atmosphere.
Over three years, I have developed the understanding to work with children who have a variation of needs, from ADHD, to autism, OCD and attachment disorders. This requires a considerable amount of patience, support and an empathic nature. Despite my position only being voluntary, I have worked on a one to one basis with children in foster care, which as you can understand, involves developing a strong relationship with a child. I comprehend to value a child’s opinion and to listen intently to anything that is important to them. My time spent at the primary school never felt like work and I know a career opportunity such as this will be no different. I have the dedication and drive to put my all into a youth worker role.
In addition to working at the primary school, On occasion I also worked as a playgroup assistant for Whitleigh Play care. The responsibilities for this role include, collecting the children from school, preparation of meals for the children, organising activities such as arts and crafts, and the management of a large group of children on trips to such places as jump. Whitleigh play care also organises “Forest School” Which sets learning in a different context for children, especially those that find ordinary learning in a classroom a challenge. We light a fire, drink hot chocolate and create woodland themed arts and crafts. Obviously the safeguarding of children is very important in a situation such as this, however the day is really beneficial and offers children unfamiliar with being outdoors, the chance to develop confidence in this setting. This is a brilliant job role in which you have the chance to provide children with a stable and fun environment. It requires a strong imagination and a lot of energy, although I absolutely love my shifts with the playgroup and again it never feels like work.
