Sabine, nanny - DD1 Dundee

Dear families,

my name is Sabine, I am 23 years old and originally from Germany. I graduated from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands with an undergraduate degree in Psychology in July 2017.
I have acquired vast experience of working with and caring for children from the age of 4 up to 18 years of age. Currently, I work as a social care worker in a residential child and youth care centre supporting a group of children of 8 – 18 years of age in their daily life. During my Erasmus semester at Abertay University in Dundee, I volunteered in the Kith ‘N Kin project for Tayside Council on Alcohol (TCA) working with a group of children of 4 – 10 years of age. I have also previously offered private tutoring for several different subjects to students from different grades and school forms.
Due to my empathic and caring nature, it is easy for me to build stable and trusting relationships with the children I work with. I also have the patience and assertiveness that is needed for this job. What distinguishes me from other nannies is my willingness to also work with children with special needs and children that show challenging behaviours. In addition, I strongly respect that every parent has their own views on the upbringing of their children and I understand that it can be difficult to leave your own children with a person from outside of the family. Therefore, I will do my best to adjust my way of working to your own plans and wishes for your children.
Personally, I am a very creative person, meaning that I would enjoy doing all kinds of arts and crafts with your children but also that I can find creative solutions when difficulties arise. I am also energetic and sportive, I go swimming a lot and like to spend time outside. At the playground, I will definitely have just as much fun as your children. Healthy eating is also important to me. I am a vegetarian myself and would also be able to cook vegan meals and would like to adopt a vegan lifestyle when living in a vegan family. I am an open and tolerant person with an international mindset who likes to travel and learn about different cultures. During my exchange semester in Dundee, I learned to love the Scottish culture and would thus love to move back to Scotland, hopefully working for your family. I could start working for you as of March 2018.

I have a full clean driving licence but might need one or two driving lessons from you at the beginning as I am used to driving on the right side of the road. I have a first aid certificate and PVG scheme membership.
