I raised both of my children single handed whilst working full time.I found this as rewarding as it was challenging.I have worked with families and young people in the community as a family support worker, worked in various roles within education for over ten years ranging from reception to year 11 and have also worked in children's residential care for one year. I am paediatric first aid trained and also have a current DBS which is enhanced to allow me to work with children. I currently worked in a school for young people who have been permanently excluded from main stream education.They all have emotional and behavioural issues.I work 1:1 and in classroom with them and they also reside Monday to Friday.I am patient and calm and set clear boundaries.I believe children learn a lot from us as carers and we need to be good role models whilst having fun and teaching Independance. I am off all of the school holidays so can fit other work in and would also consider Full time work if the pay and conditions were satisfactory and I was lucky enough to work with the right family.
