I am friendly, approachable, consistent, reliable and a good time keeper. I can work well on my own and as part of a team. I am enthusiastic and eager to develop my knowledge, skills and experience so as to provide the best possible care for the children. I have enjoyed studying different theorists such as John Bowlby and can see the relation to his attachment theory with the children's bond to their parents
. I am aware of how different and individual children's learning can be and how I have to be responsive to their needs. I have learned a lot through my placements and feel confident that I could fit in well as I am committed, flexible and look forward to putting my new skills to use. I am aware of the importance and responsibility of my role as a child development officer especially in regards to child protection by remembering confidentiality and passing on information to the relevant person. I am also aware of the importance of providing a fun, nurturing and stimulating environment for children to learn in whilst focusing on the Pre-Birth to Three document, Curriculum for Excellence, the four R's ( Rights of the child, Relationships, Responsive Care, Respect. ) and GIRFEC (Getting it Right For Every Child).
