I am contacting you concerning the position advertised. Please have a look at my attached CV for a detailed view of my skills and experience. I am looking to continue working within the special needs children sector where my qualities can be utilised. I am willing to undertake additional training and qualifications, where required, to support me in my role.
I was working for a private family and been in their employ for nearly 2 years on a part time basis. The children’s ages on starting were 14 months and a premature newborn baby. I do all the usual nanny duties.
I was employed from November 2020 to February 2021 as a special needs carer for 10 years old twins with neurological impairment causing severe delayed development. This was a night shift and involved constant monitoring of the twins, application of oxygen masks, administering medication through medical tubes into an implant in their stomachs into which I also programmed the Nutricia Flocare Infinity for the feeding of milk, plus changing nappies and turning the twins in their beds to prevent bedsores.
From 2017-2019 I worked for Greenwich Council as a special needs support worker. This involved pick-ups, days out, working in a group, as well as one to one attention and therapy sessions and drop-offs. I also worked during 2015 and 2016 for the same people.
I have acquired a and originals are available to inspect. I have had my DBS updated by Greenwich Paediatric First Aid certificate at level 2 and I have a DBS police check which is constantly updated online for you to view Council. I have attained training in common core knowledge and skills required by OFSTED. All paperwork can be provided for personal inspection upon request.
I am looking for a permanent full time position with the same or similar responsibilities or a position more challenging.

I have over six years experience of working within a variety of roles at different levels based within childcare and have checkable references from previous employment.
I have worked as a private special needs home carer on a one to one basis with a key child with severe autism. This involved teaching speech therapy and social skills to him using the Son-Rise programme that the mother had coached me in. My previous position was with special needs children for Greenwich Council. I have gained a wide range of skills and knowledge relating to the growth and development of children with special needs including safeguarding and health and safety practices.
I have looked after various children and young people and have regularly helped in childminding for a friend. I am a caring and compassionate individual who has the ability to communicate with people of different ages, cultures and backgrounds. I can follow instructions and work well using my initiative or within a team environment. I am a quick learner with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
