Bailey, nanny in Hadleigh SS7

Hello my name is Bailey Tett; I am 19 years of age. Since a young age I have always wanted to work with children so when it came to my options in school, I thought no more and did my level 1 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce.

When I left school, I immediately got myself into an apprenticeship at a nursery, where I then went on to complete my Level 2 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce as I knew this was something I really did want to do. I was there for just under 2 years working with children of all ages, helping them to grow and develop, doing everything I could with them to help them progress in their learning and development. I also helped out with the after school club, helping the older children with their homework and reading.

My parents were my main motivation as they have been foster carers since 2009. I enjoyed helping them out with the different children, babysitting from time to time, getting the children ready for bed and putting them to bed with a story. They fostered around 12 different children since being approved to foster and that's when I gained experience working with children with extremely difficult behaviour and children with disabilities aswell before moving out to live with my partner.

I moved here from Colchester about a year ago, from August to October, I looked after a children aged 11 whilst his parent worked through the holidays, when he went back to school I then collected him and did a variety of things, including helping him with homework, taking him to the park etc. Since November 2015, I have been working in a nursery in Basildon, I started off working in the baby room with children ages up to 2 years, before there was a change in staff and I was moved into the preschool room working with children ages 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 years. I have also covered in the older preschool room and the toddler room sometimes when needed.
