Laura, nanny in Hockley SS5

Hey! My name is Laura, I am 23 years old and I am currently training to become a Primary School teacher on a two year course. I graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University in BSc Sociology, where I achieved a 2:1 with honours. I am available during school holidays, Friday, Saturday and Sundays.
I have been a nanny for two children aged 3 and 5, and only left due to getting a place on the teacher training course. This involved bathing the two children, helping with homework, taking and picking them up from nursery/school, preparing breakfast and dinner, and also providing full time care during the school holidays. This involved planning days out and activities for the children. I have also worked for SNAAP (Special Needs Advisory and Activities Project) where I worked one-to-one with a disabled child/adult each day. I performed personal care, providing and supervising activities and provided day trips for children. This job also involved a huge amount of patience, and I had to make sure I remained calm in very stressful situations. I also had to be prepared for the unexpected and to always stay alert. I have also been a babysitter for a family of four children aged 4-15. This involved general babysitting duties, bathing the two younger children, preparing meals, helping with homework, picking the children up from school and occasionally staying overnight. I have had experience working in both primary, secondary and special schools as a Teaching Assistant, which gave me the opportunity to work with children of all ages. I have also done some temporary work in a nursery.
I believe that my vast amount of experience of working with children in various context emphasises my passion for working with children. Furthermore, as I am training to become a primary school teacher I will be able to assist with homework.
