Having had previous experience in nannying/childminding, I can safely say that it was one of the most fun and rewarding jobs I've ever had. Though it's been several years since I was nannying, the family whom I worked with previously is still very much a part of my life, and I still maintain contact with the children. Recently, however, I have been tutoring in English ages 5-20, as a way to maintain work experience, but also to satisfy my need to teach, and help others.
I love to engage the children in educational activities, such as baking and cooking from recipes (an old favourite are Unicorn Rainbow Poop Cookies) as a way to engage the reading and following of instructions, (as well as something tasty for the parents to come home to!), painting and drawing, reading, and going on adventures to new places to explore, such as local woods and towns.
I'm happy to help with chores around the house, and similarly able to prepare any meals for the children, too. I do believe that it's good practice to include the children in some of these activities, such as encouraging them to tidy away toys etc, as well as help with dinner in ways they can, such as laying the table.
I'm told I'm a lot of fun, though whilst I may be playful, I definitely don't tolerate bad behavior and am not scared to refer to my authority. I have, however, always been blessed to care for wonderful children, and I'm sure that will continue! I love this line of work, and I hope my passion comes across through my experiences.
