Katie, nanny - HU12 Hedon

I am responsible, reliable and caring young lady who loves looking after and working with children. Seeing children progress and forming a relationship with them is also something I enjoy. I have had plenty of experience with children ranging from the age of 0 to 16. I volunteered in two primary schools (Burstwick Primary School for 2 weeks in 2012 and Preston Primary School from November 2014 to July 2015 and an extra week in November 2015) where I helped the children with their reading and writing and got involved in many activities with them. I also learnt a lot from these experiences such as health and safety procedures, the discipline systems and that children develop and learn differently. I throughly enjoyed both my experiences and it inspired me to want to work with children even more. I also was a lunchtime supervisor at a secondary school where I made sure the pupils where kept safe and sorted it any problems. Babysitting is something I have done over my life for family, friends and neighbours for a variety of ages and again I have enjoyed doing this. I am reliable, honest, caring and trustworthy which I believe has reflected in my work experience. I am mature and friendly and every challenge that I face I have tackled with determination. I am able to work well with people on a one to one basis but also in groups where I can take charge to help get tasks done quickly and properly. I am very organised and I like to have things done on time such as coursework which allowed to me finish my health and social course in plenty of time and this enabled me to fit more work experience into my timetable as I finished it with plenty of time to spare. I have good communication skills and can communicate with variety of ages such as young children and adults/colleagues I have worked with.
