Hello, my name is Jess, I am 21 years old and I am currently a Gaelic student at the University of Aberdeen going into my 4th year in September and I aspire to become a Primary School Teacher. I am fully PVG certified by Discloser Scotland.

I am a caring, trustworthy and reliable person who loves working with children. I have different experiences working with children: I worked as an au pair last summer in France where I looked after 3 boys aged 14, 12 & 8. This involved looking after them during the week including one night of babysitting a week and cooking their lunch and dinner. I also have classroom experience in a Primary 1/2 class where I helped the children with reading and art activities. Further to this, I gained work experience in my former High School in the Gaelic Department with my former Gaelic teacher. As well as this, I have a 4 and a half year old Niece who I have looked after when needed since she was born.

I love playing and listening to music, I play the violin and piano and I am currently learning the chanter which I am thoroughly enjoying.

I am working towards my spoken fluency in Scottish Gaelic and I have a fair understanding of spoken and written French. I have a keen interest in languages and I have started to teach myself sign language which I am finding challenging but extremely interesting.

I currently work part time as a waitress during term time which has extended into summer in a few evenings a week and weekends so ideally would be looking for daytime work although I am more than willing to negotiate occasional evening and weekend work on request.
