Almudena, nanny in Aylesbury

My name is Almudena, I am 28 years old. I am from the south of Spain, I used to live in a city named Marbella, in the region of Andalucía. I finished all my studies including:

- Bachelor of Arts in Labor Relations, Universidad de Malaga.
- Master's Degree in Spanish Business Law, Universidad de Malaga.

I think that my favorite hobby is reading and cooking (specially cakes and brownies). I love music, animals and nature. I like making puzzles too. I have always been a sociable and an open person, and very patient. I am a happy, honest and responsible woman who loves the family life.

My first experience like babysitter was in summer 2007, with Alejandro of 5 years old. I looked after him in the afternoon, Monday to Friday, I used to arrive early and I helped him with his homework. If he finished soon we played with his favorite toys like a reward. Then we went for a walk. Every day I tried to go to a different places, for example: one day to the park with some Alejandro´s friend, another day to the beach, sometimes to the children´s library, we visited the museum, we fed animals, we often went to the cinema, we liked skating and eating ice-cream. If the weather was bad we stayed at home playing video games. When we arrived to his house I helped him to take bath and get dressed. If his family was not in his house I made the dinner for him. He loved pizza and pasta. I saw him growing so I feel that he is part of my family. Also, because his family has always been very good with me. They remembered my birthday all the years and gave me a present. I looked after him like my brother. Today, I still call him to known how is he.

My second experience was with Maria and Macarena, two sisters of 1 and 4 years. I used to look after them when they came on holidays to Marbella when their parents wanted to go out with their friends. They loved playing UNO cards and playing board games. Sometimes we stayed at home watching a cartoon movies, my favorite cartoon movie is UP, for me is a beautiful movie that tells a story about a child and an elder. Also we sometimes read storybooks when they took a nap. I remember that the older sister was very responsible like me with my sister when I was her age.

I have been working as AuPair in America for 2 years. I started with a great family in April 2013 and I took care of their only child of 5 years old for a whole year. The family couldn´t have been better with me and I still love the little town where I met very good people. But, after one year in the same state, Connecticut, I moved out to Maryland. It was an interesting change. Instead of a little town, I moved to Baltimore, a big city. I met more people, I saw new places... Although, the best at all were the kids, the lovely siblings, a girl of 7 years old and a boy of 5 years old. It was a great year taking care of them. Unfortunately, the AuPair program is only for 2 years maximum...

I have always liked kids, their innocence, energy and desire to know. For me, working with kids has been a beautiful experience.
