Alice, nanny in Bootle

At present I am working in a nursery. I started working in the nursery in July 2015 as a nursery practitioner and got promoted to Room Leader in January 2016. I currently work in the 2-3 year old room, but have covered in baby room, 1-2 year old room and Pre School. I work alongside 5 other members of staff and a further 14 within the full nursery.
I am fully aware of the requirements of the EYFS and its links with the characteristics of learning. These are essential parts of my planning, particularly when considering next steps for the development of the children, both indoors and outdoors. As a key worker of 20 children it is my responsibility to ensure that activities are carefully linked to my identified next steps. I work in partnership with parents to help support their development both in the nursery setting and at home. I have worked with children with English as an Additional Language and children with special education such as Speech and Language Difficulties. I am due to complete an SEN course on the 19th November to become the nurseries SENCO. I have completed referral forms for children, and ‘Play Plans’ on how the staff and parents are going to work together to help the child’s development in every way possible.
