Magdalena, nanny in Bristol

Hello, I am Magdalena, although all the little ones know me as Magic! The name came from my Granddad on the day I was born, he'd come to see me and my mum shortened my name to Madzia, and he'd misheard her and since that day, I have been Magic!

I am 22, with a degree in Economics and have spent the past year in an accounting job. However, do not let that fool you! I have redirected the direction in which I wish to go and have realised I would like to work with children, ideally eventually to become a Primary School teacher.

I spend my Tuesday evenings volunteering at a centre for Autistic children, and on Thursdays I become a Rainbow leader! It was through my volunteering that I realised that my current job was not where I wanted to be, and that working with children is where I am meant to be.

Although I am an only child, I have 9 cousins who I see as my siblings.. and those 9 cousins... have 11 children between them (Christmas is entertaining!). They range between the ages of 11 years and 2 months. I am often the one who gets called up to babysit, not because I have nothing to do, but because all my cousins know that I'd be absolutely delighted to and always make it fun for the kids.

I am very crafty you see, and when ever I look after them, they always come home with either a new piece of crafty art work, or some cupcakes (I am a very keen baker)! The decorating of the cupcakes always seems to be the messiest part, icing everywhere! But obviously it is all cleaned up before the parents get home! Good thing with making treats, by telling the kids that they can't have any until the kitchen is spotless.. the kitchen suddenly gets cleaner just that little bit faster!

I am more than happy to help with homework, especially with wanting to be a teacher myself. I have been doing on-line quick courses and researched into different ways that children learn best.. and it depends on the child as an individual. No child will learn the same way.
