I am an enthusiastic individual and I have always been passionate about caring for people, in particular the little ones! I started gaining professional experience caring for children whilst I was a student. Where I was a regular child minder helping families on evening and weekends. Once I completed my Psychology degree (specialising in child development in my final year), I then worked for 2 years as a Learning Disability / Mental Health care worker.
The past two years I have spent working as a professional Nanny in Melbourne, Australia. I provided child care for numerous families, including the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Melbourne's newborn – and I built up a nanny-network in the Melbourne area, mainly looking after children aged between four weeks old and twelve years old.
I love getting to know new families, finding out how best I can help them and becoming part of the family. I have lots of experience structuring a day with up to four children learning their routine, ensuring they are engaged in age appropriate activities. I am able to provide long-term care, as well as helping out with casual, one off or short-term positions.
I was the nanny for a little boy from the age of 9 months old until he was 2 years old; and also the nanny for a family with 3 children, aged 2, 4 and 8, for a year. I've helped numerous families out with nanny-share arrangements too. Regrettably I had to leave these families in Australia but it has been an amazing experience forming long-term attachments and helping them develop and grow. All families I worked with are happy to provide references.
I have some experience working with children with both intellectual disabilities, such as Autism and conditions causing physical disabilities, such as severe kidney failure. I understand each family has individual needs, and I am happy to help if I can. I believe I am a nanny who maintains a professional yet fun and caring nature. I also have some teaching experience with children, mainly with arts and crafts. I like to be creative and I enjoy dancing, keeping fit and music. I am happy to cook healthy meals for the family and assist with any housekeeping duties or pets. I arrived back in England early October, I currently have full-time availability and I am looking forward to meeting new families in the Bristol/Bath area. (Although for the right job and family, I am certainly willing to travel),
