Katie, nanny in Bulverhythe

Hi, my name is Katie and I live in Hastings. I have worked with young children (under 5's) for over three years in nurseries and other early years settings. I have worked mostly with under twos (including newborns) but also have spent time caring for older ones. As well as this hands on experience I have am qualified to level 3 in childcare and have attended a huge amount of training that has further developed my knowledge. Included in this training is paediatric first aid, food hygiene, Makaton and child development.

In my work with children I aim to provide safe, secure and stimulating environments in which children can explore, investigate and experiment to their hearts content. In doing this I aim to ensure the best possible opportunities for learning and development as well as appropriately and compassionately meeting their care needs. Basically I want you and your children to be as happy as possible and I will do everything I can to achieve this.

As well as my caring and compassionate nature I call upon all my experience and child development knowledge to provide high quality care. I am particularly passionate about open ended play, creativity, heuristic play, outdoor play and imaginative play and am full of ideas and ways to explore these. I am also very passionate about the way babies under one play and learn and this not only informs my work with very young children but also older ones as I know how the first building blocks of learning are laid in the brain.

As well as caring for your little ones I am happy to contribute to housework, cooking meals and caring for pets. I also have my own transport and a driving license as well as an up to date criminal records check.
