Evangeline, nanny in Coleorton

My name is Evangeline or Evie for short and I am a 22 year old female looking for a full-time, live out nanny role in the East Midlands. Here is some information about me that I hope you'll find what you're looking for.

I have spent the last four summers dedicating my time to looking after children ages 8 to 16 by giving them the most incredible summers of their lives whether they were there for a week or seven. I still have incredibly strong friendships with some of my campers and I feel so privileged to be a part of their upbringing. Camp has taught me to live life to the fullest and to find the right balance of being silly, having fun and being firm. I would often have sole charge as well as working as a team to look after the children both on and off camp. My camp was residential so I shared my bunk with other councillors and our own group of children. We would instil bunk rules including a cleaning rota and appropriate behaviour. We would ensure they were all healthy, happy, wearing clean clothes, keeping good personal hygiene and leaving in the morning with everything they needed for the day. One of the most important parts of my job was being a parent away from home. We had children from Israel and other foreign countries, some speaking very little English, so we would have to find different ways of communicating and ensuring they knew they could rely on us and come to us for absolutely anything. I really believe that positivity is infectious. If you show enthusiasm, even over the smallest or most mundane thing and enjoy yourself, so will everybody else.

My other childcare experiences involve running an after schools sports session once a week. Unfortunately, due to the owners circumstances she decided to move to a different organisation so I was only there for a short period of time. I taught children from reception to year 3 a range different sports and coordination skills to help them develop their skill set and have a positive and active outlet. I have also lent a hand at a local nursery when they were short staffed looking after young babies to children in year 6 reading stories, playing with lego and ensuring their wellbeing at all costs. I have beautiful twin nieces and I love nothing more than going to visit or looking after them in Cambridge. Although they are only 2.5 years old they have me well trained at feeding hungry tummies, bath time splashes and bed time stories. Working with children of all ages is so rewarding as they often teach you things you didn't know or had entirely forgotten.

I pursue myself to have exceptional qualities that make me stand out over other candidates. For example, I am a fully qualified Lifeguard. This means you can ensure your children will always be in the safest of hands. When I worked for a Leisure Centre, I had to attend monthly staff training. Here we would practice water rescues and first aid including CPR. I have had to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations on a regular occasion. As a lifeguard at Camp, I’d work as a team by watching up to 100 children swimming at any given time, taking them kayaking, or driving the speed boat towing children doing water-sports on the lake. I also hold a full, clean UK Driving License and own my own car. I currently travel from Leicestershire to Derby for work and often drive other long distances. I will happily explore further afield with your children to find ideal educational adventures for them all to enjoy. I pride myself in having a broad range of interests such as swimming, arts and crafts, baking, being outside, animals and photography.
