Jessica, nanny in Delph

My name is Jessica and I'm 28 years old currently living in Saddleworth, Oldham. I've worked in a variety of corporate jobs during my lifetime but none of them have I enjoyed even a fraction as much as voluntary work as a Beaver Scout leader. I was a leader for approximately 4.5 years and it was only when we moved away recently that I had to stop. I've come to realise that I'd love to follow my passion for working with and taking care of children and get out of the corporate rat race. My parents have been foster carers for 10 years also, specialising in teenagers with behavioural difficulties so I've had a lot of hands on experience helping them through the years, and have gained a lot of knowledge and experience from this. If I could have my time again and go back to University, I would without a doubt do a PGCE and study Primary teaching, however life doesn't quite work out that way unfortunately!

During my time with Beaver Scouts I entirely ran my own group of between 15-20 6-8 years olds, planning and running all of the activities, ensuring they all earned their badges and also planning various trips out and extra events, including camping, a sleepover at Sealife, trips to the Fire Station etc. It was truly the most rewarding thing I've done, and I'd love to be able to do a job that rewarding full-time.

As well as this I have experience with children of all ages as I have 3 nephews and a niece. They're all in to their teenage years now but I have helped out with them as much as possible throughout their whole lives and I absolutely adore all of them.

I have no children of my own yet as my partner and I have been focusing on buying our own house, and would like to get married first however they are definitely on the cards eventually!
