Presentation

Before moving to Dundee with my family I had two jobs, both of which I enjoy very much and both of which are people orientated. Working for two separate employers has allowed me to demonstrate my self-discipline skills, time management and organisational strengths and I have balanced two job roles alongside my family commitments extremely well.

Wickersley Community Playgroup – Assistant Manager (2009 – Nov 2016)
This is my second job and in October 2012 I was successfully promoted to the Assistant Manager role in response to the hard work and success I had demonstrated to date. I have a vast array of responsibilities within my role including the following:
• Working in collaboration with the Manager to ensure the safeguarding of staff, children and parent’s/carers at all times.
• Responsible for all aspects relating to the recruitment and retention of staff including interviewing, referencing in line with regulatory requirements, conducting appraisals and overall responsibility for the training and coaching of staff members.
• I am also responsible for the marketing drive and positive promotion of the business, ensuring that the organisation is represented to the highest standards possible.
• I am a key facilitator between parents, children and outside bodies as and when necessary and have to perform this duty often at distressing and or stressful times. Fundamental to this is my ability to deal with all parties in an empathic manner.
• An attribute which I must demonstrate on a regular basis as a key worker is that of relationship builder, earning the trust of parents when working alongside them to assist in the development of their child or children.
• Responsible for the businesses adherence to confidentiality policies and data protection.
• Responsible for the maintenance and review of regulatory policies in accordance with the legal requirements of Ofsted.
• Trained and qualified within all legal and compliance areas such as: Paediatric First Aid, Child Protection and Food Hygiene.
• Responsible for the conducting of risk assessments.
• Assistant to SENCO and Behaviour Officer.
• Ambassador for the sharing of good practice within the appropriate arenas.
