Cathy, nanny in Edinburgh EH8

My name is Cathy , I am twenty nine years old, Greek and I have recently moved to Edinburgh to work and study here. I am a qualified Spanish Teacher and I also have MSc Degrees in History and Philosophy of Science. I love working with children and this is what I have always done. Since I was sixteen years old I have been volunteering every year as a summer camp escort to children of various ages, both boys and girls. During the university years I have been working as a babysitter for babies (two months old) to teenagers. I was also helping many of them with their homework (References attached).
In the same period of time I have been working for the biggest amusement park for kids in Greece called “Allou Fun Park” where I undertook many tasks such as event management, childcare and entertainment, as well as escorting children to all the attractions of the Park, making sure they are safe during the play. I received the relevant training from my supervisors.
The following years I worked as an escort to a wheelchair-bound with severe motion and developmental disability girl during her social and sport activities, this heroine is a Paralympics medalist with a really busy daily program. This has been an unprecedented and influential experience that changed the way I think and act. Since then I have been working with special kids with mental disabilities voluntarily and professionally. During the last summers I have been working as an escort to children with mental and movement disabilities in special summer camps as an employee of the mental institution “Theotokos” (References attached).
I am really interested in issues relevant to the educational procedure both to students facing learning difficulties or not. I have applied for scholarship for the MSc in Education of the University of Edinburgh in order to enrich my knowledge about the children cognitive functions and improve my accessibility to them. I also applied for the MSc in Social Work And the undergraduate program in Cognitive Science. I will eventually attend the program in which I will be approved.
I am a very responsible and reliable person, giving, kind and sensitive, with deep respect and understanding in children’s needs. I am always getting close to them and evolve between us a mutual constructive relationship. I teach and being taught by children and my main care is their safety and happiness which ensure my happiness.
