Hello, I am a qualified Early Years practitioner with 20 years experience of working as a Nanny, Early Years/Nursery Teacher and Family Worker.
I live at home with my family in a small village just outside Cambridge. I am married and have two children, 12 and 17. I am 47 years of age and have recently given up full time work to go back to education to train as a Counsellor. I am very fit and love the outdoors, i do lots of walking and have been a keen runner in the past. I enjoy meeting people and being part of the community, i currently help run the local Youth Club.
I am looking for a three day Nanny position and I am also happy to offer one night babysitting per month.
Ideally i would like a position where I am needed to care all day 7/8am - 4/5 or 6pm. I have my own car with a clean driving licence. I am happy to make sure your child/ren have all their needs catered for, i believe children learn best through play and would be happy to extend play outside in the garden, parks and museums. I'm happy to join any local groups to encourage friendships and new skills as well as have quiet days in to provide 1:1 time through activities like art and crafts, baking and role play, construction and puzzles.
I am a warm person with lots of time for children and Young People, I set fair boundaries and can be firm in my approach to reiterate those boundaries if need be. I don't believe in raising my voice or punishment, i believe children need opportunities to see and recognise why their behaviour is unacceptable and we as adults need to show this. I also believe children react positively to praise and encouragement and will thrive when in a positive and fair environment. Children will learn best from our behaviour.
I believe children should have a well balanced diet and i'm happy to cook fresh meals and provide healthy snacks taking their dietary needs into consideration.
I am first aid trained, however i have no up to date qualification but happy to do this if need be, i also have a current DBS and i am a qualified safeguarding officer through Cambridge County Council.
