I am a 22 year old Psychology graduate. I currently work as a teaching assistant in schools and colleges. I support children and young people in and outside of the classroom. Most of the young people I work with have moderate to severe learning difficulties and disabilities as well as mental health issues. My previous employment involved working with children and young people aged 0-25 years old. The role involved using interventions and activities to improve mental health, emotional wellbeing and resilience. The children I worked with came from a range of backgrounds and abilities, including SEND children.
I have recently completed an accredited course on 'Understanding Children With Social, Emotional, Behavioual, Communication and Menthal Health Difficlties'. This has given me knowledge on how to effectively support children with a range of issues.
I have been a babysitter and a family carer for younger children including my 2-3 year old cousin. So I have experience of school runs, healthy meals, games and bed time routines.
I also volunteer as a Brownie Leader in training under GirlGuidingUK. I support girls, usually aged 7-10 years, to develop their skills through a various activities including arts and crafts, sports, science, and drama!
I love working with children to develop their skills and be the best they can be!
