I started my career with children in 2014 just after I became a parent myself which is what triggered me to become a better parent and which broadened my skill set from my previous employment and which took me on my journey to become a teacher’s assistant and Arabic tutor.
It all started when i have been taking my son to a children’s centre when he was around 6 months old and I found myself helping other young children and parents. I have decided to change my career where I found myself finally enjoying something which felt very natural. I started working in a children’s centre (preschool) for 2 years and I felt I learned a lot within them 2 years and I found it immensely rewarding helping parents with new born and toddlers. While I was working I have completed Teachers Assistant diploma my diploma has enabled me to understand the importance of my role in class room, while supporting pupils and teachers providing a positive classroom environment. It has also taught me to have empathy towards others and obtain practical skills in applying this knowledge in a positive and effective way.
Working with children enabled me to develop my creative side and explore new fun ways for children to learn and no matter how young they are children will have fun with learning. I try to learn something new from every experience, I believe there is always room for self- improvement both personally and professionally. Working as a teacher’s assistant you know that everyday you are helping to mould and shape the children’s lives in some small way. Passionate about helping to broaden their minds so that they can think in new ways. It is rewarding to know that I am helping others constantly when helping to develop children’s learning capability it’s great to learn from teachers around you who are more experienced and are able to guide others to become better role module.
I am currently working at St Johns primary school as a play leader and teacher assistant and I have the privilege of supporting children from all backgrounds and learning difficulties I have realised the importance of connecting with each child on their individual terms and learning skills which has also helped me to understand my strengths and development areas for me to progress as I know I really want to become a successful teacher assistant with a goal of becoming a teacher in the future.
Where I am able to speak and write multiple languages I also thought of using my abilities to privately tutor children who wanted to learn Arabic both reading and writing and this was such a challenge which I believe I was able to deliver and offered a new way for me to use what I have taken from working in the school setting. Again I have learned from this experience and I can take this into a school environment.
This role applies and compliments my previous work and training experience, demonstrating a keen interest in supporting and caring for all individuals. This is a great opportunity in extending what I have already learned.
