Gemma, nanny in Horsmonden TN12

Hello, I'm Gemma, I'm 31 years old and I'm qualified to Level 4 in NVQ Childcare.

I have been working in Nurseries since 2003 and have been doing work experience in Nurseries since my teens as well as doing a lot of babysitting in my teens.

I have worked with the under 5's in Nurseries and worked with each age group, babies can start at Nursery from 3 months old, although very few have been that young.

Looking at the additional services section, I have put 'No, I would prefer not to' to a couple of questions which are the 'Can you help children with their homework?' I haven't had much experience with helping children with their homework although it is something I would like to feel confident to help with. I would probably be able to help with some of it, but would want to feel completely confident that I understand what needs to be done.

I have also said no to the cooking for children as I have limited cooking skills at the moment, although again this is something I would like to learn to do, and feel confident that I can cook a variety of different things for them.

I am capable with household chores although I prefer to focus mostly on the childcare side, although I am willing to do some household work.

I have played musical instruments in the past, but I put no as I am not currently practising any instruments. The latest instrument I took up was in my 20's, I was playing the keyboard and got a Grade Merit for Grade 1.

I played Flamenco and Classical Guitar at School, also the Violin and recorder.

With the price range I have put £10 per hour although it would be negotiable. I'm not sure what to put per hour, I Googled price ranges and taking into account my age and qualifications I put £10 per hour for now.

I did GCSE Italian and French and got a Grade 'C' in both, although I have only put I speak English as that's my mother tongue and I am nowhere near fluent in any other language.

I have done First Aid qualifications in the past although I need to renew this, as well as Food Hygiene etc.
