I am originally from Scotland and I have now permanently relocated to South Somerset due to my husband being in the Military. I am a fully qualified teacher and I love working with children of all ages!
My passion for helping children to develop to the best of their ability is why I get so much job satisfaction working in childcare. My background in languages means I can also offer additional services such as helping teach your child the basics in another language! I love baking and crafts, keeping active and having lots of fun!
I hold my full teaching qualification and hold a degree in Professional Education with French. I started working in schools in 2008, working in both Primary and Secondary Education. In the last 4 years, I have been working in Early Year's settings. I have 14 months’ experience in an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' nursery as well as 18 months in a local Pre-School, where I was Deputy Manager for the last year. This means that I am well aware of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and therefore how to help your child develop for their age and stage.
I am currently completing my Level 3 in Preparing to work in Home-based Childcare so that I can become Ofsted registered.
I also hold my Paediatric first aid certificate, Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene for catering and I have completed my Food Allergy Training with the Food Standards Agency.
I have also completed the Universal Module in Inclusive Communication which uses the basics of British Sign Language to communicate by combining different strategies.
Ideally I would like to work for one family as a full time, day time, live out nanny although I do offer evening babysitting when I am available. I am willing to consider part time hours for the right family.
