Aileen, nanny in Inverness IV2

My name is Aileen, I am 24 years old and I live in Inverness.

Education: I currently have 5 highers from my school days which are English (C), Maths (D), Music (B), Drama (C) and Product Design (C), and 2 Intermediate 2's, Art (A) and History (C). I also completed 1 year of university study, however I decided it was not for me. I went back to college last year to do 3 more highers (Childcare and Development, Human Biology and Care), and will be getting those results in August.

Experience: I have been babysitting for family and friends, and helping with children of all ages since the age of 16. I am currently a Sunday School helper at the church I attend and have been asked to be a Sunday School teacher, starting after the summer holidays. I am also a helper in the church creche. Through this I am a member of the PVG scheme and many of the families I have babysat for are families from the church.

I love working with children and find it incredibly rewarding. My favourite activities to engage in are crafts, reading stories and playing outside when the weather is nice, but if a child is interested in something I am more than happy to help and participate in this.

As a care giver I think I am fun but I can be firm when needed. I believe that manners are of high importance and I encourage all children I come in contact with to always say please and thank you, no matter what their age, as well as to have respect for other people and their possessions.

Personal: I am a fun, bubbly and imaginative person who loves to get stuck in. I have worked in retail for the last 2.5 years so I am used to interacting with all kinds of people on a daily basis.
I love a challenge, and anyone who has been around children knowns they can, at times, be challenging!
