I am a 28 year-old qualified graduate in primary school teaching with a Foundation Degree in early childhood education and some experience in the education field in Spain (Equivalent as a FETAC 5 & 8 in Ireland).
I have experience working with children, babies and toddlers (0 to 13 years old).
I love children and I find myself at my best when I am working with them. For this reason I always tried to combine my degree with different roles that involve working with children. During my foundation degree in early childhood education I started playing amateur performances for children in a theatre club. After that, I became a children theatre instructor, leading a theatre workshop for children aimed to develop their creativity, improve their social interaction and their ability to express themselves.
I have been working in Dublin as an au pair and childminder (As au pair from June 2014 / to February 2015 and as a childminder from February 2015 / to February 2017)). During the 9 months I worked as au pair, I lived with an Irish family and took care of three girls, aged 2, 5 and 7. My role involved caring for these children, providing play and social activities, developing the children's independent skills and managing any behavioural issues that arose.
As a childminder I was taking care of three girls, aged 2, 6 and 8. In order to be able to help them with their homework I started taking Irish lessons.
On my last job I was working as a childcare practitioner (room leader) in a crèche in Portmarnock (Dublin). My role involved provide children with a safe environment to play and learn and help them to develop basic behavioural and social skills.
In the afternoons I was providing private Spanish lessons to children. I designed instruction, materials, and created lesson plans aimed to teach Spanish grammar, conversation, and vocabulary to children aged 6 – 9 years old.
I was also volunteering at ‘Humpty Dumpty Toddlers group’ in Bayside (Dublin), (from june 2016 / to February 2017) assisting the team leader to organise, plan and develop educational activities for children. Helping to keep children engaged in the group activities, having regular contact with parents and helping them with any problem they had.
I have a great deal of patience, creativity and team work capacity. I am warm, funloving and I am a reliable and resilient person.
