Malishia, nanny in Leven

Hi my name is Malishia, I have been around children all my life, my nana and aunty are both foster carers, when I am around them I am around a mixed age group of children, all with different needs. I have a brother at 16 who I helped look after when he was younger and a 4 year old little sister who I am around everyday...she makes my day :)

I have and will still coach gymnastics, I have coached a range of ages from toddler up to 18 years old.

My qualifications are:

I have a HND qualification in social science which focuses largely on the human being,

I have an HNC qualification in Social Care which involved me working in a children's home with 7 boys aged 12-16.

I also have a NC qualification in Working with Communities which involved me working at a youth club with children aged 12 - 17

I worked in Dundee for a little while as a childcare practitioner for primary school children.

I love to work with children, I love seeing different personalities and coming up with games and fun things to do which suit their individual personalities. I believe games are a major part of development and building relationships with other kids, family and siblings. Anyone who has seen me around children has noted that I bring out the fun element to tasks that we need to do, I am a great believer in making learning fun if and when possible. I have been around children with behavioural problems too and I have managed to find something they can be interested in to keep them focussed on good activities rather than allowing themselves to get in to trouble. I want the children to know I am here to talk to and to ask for help if they need or want to.

I am loyal, hard working, fun to be around, honest, trustworthy, outgoing and passionate about doing my best in every situation.
