Hello all!
My name is Laura, I'm 23 and originate from Leeds (with the consequent accent). I moved to Lincoln in 2014 to study teacher training at Bishop Grossteste University, a fantastic teaching institute. I graduated with a BA in Primary Education in 2017 and was granted Qualified Teacher Status. I was very lucky to find a job immediately after graduating, working for a year in KS1 and teaching my own class. It was an amazing experience and taught me a great deal; mainly about how much I enjoy working with children!
Currently, I am taking a step back from full time teaching and am working as a supply teacher. This allows me more time during the week. However, I am very much a person who enjoys working and so am looking to use my time more effectively.
From teaching, I know full well that not all children are the same and enter into every caring role with a fresh mindset! I'm very encouraging and positive, with a smile for everyone! Whilst it's important that children are continually developing, I know that everyone progresses differently and work to fit my expectations around the individual. I am completely non-judgemental as I know that lives don't fit into neat little boxes, so I am more than happy to adapt to any situation! With that in mind, I am totally willing to do some homework of my own to understand any situation a little better, if needed.
