My name is Lucy , I have always enjoyed working with children from a young age. I have a CACHE diploma level 3 in childcare with four childcare placements including both primary schools and day care nurseries.

I currently work for an organisation positive futures which involves me taking out children with autism or learning difficulties 1:1 and organising different activities suiting to their interests and age appropriate activities. For example, I would go swimming, craft activities, cinema, trips out to a farm or the park.

I also have a three year old godson who I look after once a week, I aim to do activities or games to help him learn as well as have fun! For example, when I take him to different farms he has a good time but also learns his animals. I also give him choices and give him little jobs so he knows he has his own independence.

In my placements during my diploma I had assessments with the children I was working with in which I had to organise an activity suited to the children, for example, in the day care nursery i organised a craft activity that was suited for everyone and around Christmas time so the children made it according to what they enjoyed about Christmas, I took children centred approach to this activity.

My qualities as a childcarer include; enthusiastic, caring, epathetic, patient, loving, compassionate.
