My name is Jennifer Egan and I have more than 10 years experience working with children of varied ages. I began my career working in a private nursery group in Edinburgh. Working here and being able to develop my role as an educator really cemented my passion for teaching in an Early Years setting.

After relocating to London I took up the role as a children's nanny for 2 girls then aged 6 months and 3 years and carried on worked here for nine years. Alongside my job as a nanny, I completed my Montessori diploma as well as my teaching hours at a Montessori school. Here I learnt many creative ways in which to teach, inspire and engage young children from the ages of 2 and a half to six years using the Montessori method. I was also able put these skills into practice when looking after the two girls I was a nanny for. Upon completion of my teaching hours I was then offered a job as a Montessori Teacher for children aged 2 and a half to five years. I was able to take up this job in the mornings and continue with nannying in the afternoons.

At the Montessori School I organised learning materials and resources to plan inspirational activities. This encouraged learning and allowed the children to develop their self-confidence. I shared these ideas and worked closely with others to co-ordinate activities in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

Over this time I also completed an Early Years Foundation Degree and a BA (HONS) in Early Years: Education and Childcare at Kingston University. Having further developed my education I decided to take up a job in a prestigious independent primary school. This allowed me to continue my professional development and gain experience in a different setting. I joined the school in September 2012 as a Montessori Assistant teacher in the Nursery class (3-4 year olds). I continued to work here until August 2015.

I have now relocated to Scotland and am looking for work. I believe that I am an experienced, versatile and engaging childcare worker. I have sound knowledge of child development and a natural ability to help children reach their development milestones. I am caring and level headed with superb organisational skills, planning and communication skills.

I also have a paediatric first aid certificate, full clean drivers license and an updated PVG.

I look forward to hearing from you soon
