Jasmine, nanny in London

Hello there, my name is Jasmine!

I am currently in my second year of a Paediatric Nursing BSc, which has involved several months of work experience in various settings with ages ranging from infants to adolescents. My degree has entailed modules completely dedicated to the development of children from birth to adulthood, ensuring we are aware of the 'normal' developmental milestones and essentially how to enable a child to reach them. I also participate in a mandatory yearly paediatric basic life support training and manual handling training. Now that I have a large gap in placement time with very few university days I would like to pursue a more regular nanny or sitter role within London. From later in the year I am looking to begin a working gap year to gain more full time experience with nannying.

Work experience is set in a number of settings to ensure engagement with a range of children for a diverse learning approach. I have cared for children on clinical, surgical and oncology wards on seperate occasions which has given me the practical skills needed to make sure all children and infants in my care are safe from harm, and their wellbeing is always the number one priority.

I have also had experience in schools for children with challenging behaviour, which I view as essential when looking after infants and children. Being able to holistically care for children with challenging behaviour and helping them to overcome their frustration and anxieties can help to improve their overall daily life and that of their families as well as enabling them to achieve intellectually, physically and socially.

Recent work experience alongside health visitors and nurses within the community has given me confidence in areas such as breastfeeding support and advice, support for new parents, weaning knowledge from six months of age onwards and general advice and care for new born to 36 months of age.

I have been with a Nanny agency within London for the past year alongside my studies, which has worked out amazingly for me and the various families and children I've had the pleasure of meeting. I am eager to build relationships with families and their children to ensure they always feel comfortable, safe and confident when leaving their children in my care! As my education has focused largely on child development, I always encourage learning through play and the benefits a fun, lively lifestyle can have for children, along with ensuring the physical, social and cognitive development milestones are being met.

I am a very active person, enjoying charity runs and bike rides rain or shine. I have cats and a dog at home, so I am very animal friendly and open to a family with pets!
